The team at QS Recruitment is delighted to announce we’ve been shortlisted for this year’s REC Awards in the category of People Development Company of the Year.
This recognition not only celebrates our ongoing commitment to training and development, but also highlights the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to continuously deliver for the businesses we work with, and to job seekers across our region.
The Awards, run by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, are considered one of the most highly esteemed in the industry. With 20 categories showcasing the very best in UK recruitment, the Awards have now been running for 13 years.
The winners will be announced on 24th November at an awards evening in London, so keep your fingers crossed for us!
We know how important our people are to the operations of our business. That’s why we want to see all our staff thrive. We take an active role in supporting and developing each of our Consultants to be their best – wherever they are on their recruitment journey.
We have a dedicated two-person training team with over 27 years of experience working within the recruitment industry. Based at our head office in Nottingham, it is their responsibility to oversee external training, run all in-house training and support employees with their documented career plans.
The training team also support our mentoring programme, which matches new staff with a mentor for the first 13 weeks in the role. Over the past few years, we have appointed two Trainees who joined the company as apprentices and both have since successfully gained REC qualifications – REC Level 3 Recruitment Consultant.
The businesses we work with see the benefits through an improved service from Consultants based on knowledge and credibility. This allows us to build trusted relationships with them, and work alongside them as true partners. From a job seeker perspective, we are able to offer an enhanced, consultative approach to candidate care.
We regularly advise our clients that a retention strategy is just as important as an attraction strategy and that numerous factors are at play. Not only do employers need to offer appealing remuneration packages – but they also need to consider benefits such as flexibility, work-from-home opportunities, and of course training and development.
We use our own business as an example of how a clear and considered people development strategy can lead to reductions in attrition. We have seen our team members move up through the ranks of our in-house Career Roadmap, with two new starters opening their own offices between the period July 2021 and July 2022 as a result of our fast-track management programme.
